Menopause simply means marking the end of a female’s reproductive period. This is something women experience as they age. It does not occur overnight! It is a gradual process. This gradual process is usually known as Perimenopausal phase which is a completely different transition for every woman. It is a very challenging phase for every woman, a woman might get irritated, and mood swings are the most common thing! Emotional breakdowns also occur. How to treat common illness without spending thousands.

Image
Common illnesses like cold and cough, fever, headaches can be even more common than we can think!  We have no practical solution for these illnesses other than popping over the counter (OTC) pills to suppress the symptoms and waiting for them to reoccur. If that one pill doesn’t work, they pop up the second one and after the second one doesn’t work they end up in doctor’s cabin asking for some more medicines. Taking these medicines over and over again is simply abusing our bodies. Side effects of the medicines are no less which gives us a chance to try and change our approach. Remember how our grandmothers resorted to old traditional home remedies for better health? Those remedies are now being used as a part of naturopathy treatment. Before reaching out to these over the counter pills, let’s try and combine our herbs, spices and right diet to fight these illnesses. Let’s understand each common illnesses one by one:- Common cold I am sure each one of us has suffer...

Living a healthy life through house chores

Image
I visited a village sometime back and was amazed at the physical strength of the women there. While I do not deny that the rural areas have their own set of health issues, but, it cannot be denied that women, due to the physical labour that they are involved in, are much stronger than many urban women. The act of using a hand mill to grind wheat builds your hand muscles. Many women are farm labourers too and spend their early morning in the field which ensures that they are not Vitamin D deficient. Farm work itself provides exercise to upper and lower body, limbs. And guys, this is hard labour work. Household chores are considered to be boring and financially worthless but we cannot deny that they are helpful in keeping many of us fit. You will not find many women with a bulging stomach in villages! This does not mean we all become farmers, but kick the laziness now to be healthy! Dust with a lemon cleaner: Be happier A citrusy scent is a potent mood booster, according to a ...

Eat onions, see why.

Whether white, yellow, or red, onions are one of the world’s most popular and versatile vegetables, delivering an unmistakable, pungent heat – some more than others. They’re in demand for cold salads and hot soups, sliced in rings or solid disks on burgers, and chopped in relish. The delicious caramelization that takes place when onions are sautéed is due to their high sugar content. (Try them sautéed with bell peppers for a tasty fajita ingredient.) Spanish red onions are generally milder than white or yellow. The Vidalia variety is one of the sweetest. The sharp fragrance and flavor emitted by onions is due to the sulfur compound allyl propyl disulphide; it’s allyl sulphide that brings you to tears when peeling one, serving the good purpose of washing the thin epithelial layer of the eyes. Holding peeled onions under cold water for several seconds before slicing minimizes this effect. Health Benefits of Eating Onions Onions are loaded with numerous...

DO YOU KNOW YOU CAN EAT RICH WITHOUT BEING RICH? SEE HOW

Image
I have heard many middle class and lower class people in my community criticizing the rich of being healthy because of what they put into their stomach, yes it could be because of that, and some insisted they could not feed but anyone could healthy without being rich, that is when the matter of quality comes over quantity. Eating ‘stomach-full’ doesn’t mean eating balance diet, at this point we need to shed more light on the matter of food quantity and quality   . The word quantity in nutrition sense mean how much of a particular food is available or how much you eat. When looking at quantity, we don’t care of what kind of food, the source, content or the benefit it provides, answer given to the particular aspect of nutrition is ‘…yes, I am stomach full’. However, malnutrition may set in for this particular individual; malnutrition remains one of the most common causes of morbidity and mortality among children throughout the world, it simply means a lack of adequate nou...

WHY YOU MUST NEVER PLAY WITH YOUR HEALTH

The proverb “health is wealth” will remain ‘evergreen’ why because no matter what you have in life, how rich you are, your status in the society, if good health is missing out of your life, then you are “dead” but alive, that is, why would you exist without being able to perform simple daily task like any other person does. What is the essence of riding a Ferrari without optimum comfort due to health issues like cancer, diabetics, neurological disorder, liver failure, kidney disease. According to some medical practitioners, it has been observed that diseases that has led to the death of many especially the rich and the educated elite is not that of lack of adequate information but nonchalant attitude towards their health status, imagine a millionaire who can’t spend just a couple of thousands on his health, in what position would he be to enjoy all what he has gathered for years? Why not visit a hospital or a nearby clinic for check up when you notice the unsual because...

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF EIGHT HOURS SLEEP

Image
Sleeping is what mankind can’t do without, as it gives us a sense of refreshment and release of stress. Work, study, and general life style of everyone of use should determine how well we need to sleep in order to get going again, importance of 8 hours sleep should be known to us: 1.You'll learn better . This isn't just about kids. Adults who get enough sleep do better on tests of short-term memory. And when researchers had adults do a task once, get a good night's sleep, and then try the task again, they showed improvement. But participants who stayed awake 30 hours after learning the same task had a much harder time improving their skills — even if they practiced and had a chance to catch some recovery shut eye later. Something about the initial sleep deprivation impaired their ability to learn. Of course, letting kids get enough sleep is important too. In one case, starting schools an hour later (at 8:30 instead of 7:30) increased "standardized...

Image
Spoilage  is the process in which  food  deteriorates to the point in which it is not edible to humans or its quality of edibility becomes reduced. Various external forces are responsible for the spoilage of food. Food that is capable of spoiling is referred to as  perishable food .
